Corriedale Fingering

Guest yarn Corriedale fingering is a 2-ply worsted spun 100% non-superwash Corriedale yarn that is ideal for socks, sweaters, and outdoor accessories; particularly those that feature colourwork!

A medium width, long-staple wool, Corriedale is a little less next-to-skin soft than merino, but still quite wearable for many. It is very strong, durable, and resilient, and offers great moisture and temperature regulation.

Details:

  • 100% untreated (non-superwash) Corriedale in fingering to sport weight.
  • 2 options: Sold in half-skeins and mini skeins: Half-skeins are approximately 50 grams and 200 yards each (skeins average 50 grams, but individual skeins weigh 47-53 grams), and mini skeins are 60 yards and 15 grams.
  • 2-ply worsted spun: body to work up in a sport weight gauge, even though it is also a true fingering weight yarn.
  • A very grippy yarn: soft and lofty, but with scales intact = perfect for a stranded colourwork project!
  • Not quite as next-to-skin soft as merino, but very wearable for many.
  • Ideal for socks, sweaters, or outerwear accessories thanks to its temperature-and-moisture-regulating properties.
  • Hold double for worsted weight.
  • Corriedale fingering is dyed and ready-to-ship within 48 hours (local pick-up available in Kanata, Ontario, Canada).
